Villa Farnesina
Description
Built in the early sixteenth century at the request of the Sienese banker Agostino Chigi, the Villa Farnesina stands as one of the finest expressions of the Italian Renaissance.
Designed by the architect Baldassarre Peruzzi, it was decorated with frescoes by Raphael, Sebastiano del Piombo, Giovanni da Udine, and Sodoma.
