Special opening

Special opening of Villa Farnesina is granted to those who request it, subject to approval by the Management.

Visits must be booked at least 15 days in advance.

Payment must be made 10 days prior to the date of the visit by bank transfer to the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei – Via della Lungara 10 – 00165 Rome, specifying the date and time of the opening in the payment description.

Visits to the Villa Farnesina may not exceed 2 hours. No refunds will be given for cancellations after payment has been made. No discounts are available during opening hours on request.

Visitor Rules

  • Headphones are mandatory for groups of more than 10 people.
  • It is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled visit time.

  • Reduced Ticket: € 10 (studenti, over 65, convenzioni)
  • Free admission: children up to 10 years old, licensed tour guides, accredited journalists, visitors with disabilities and their companions.

Photography and video recording

Photography without flash is allowed.

Video recording is not permitted either inside or outside Villa Farnesina, including during special openings.

However, for personal study purposes not related to the production of publicly distributed materials—such as publications, merchandise depicting subjects from within the Villa, or television programs—the Academy may, at its sole discretion, grant permission to carry out a limited number of recordings.

Permission is subject to submitting a formal request to Dr. Virginia Lapenta (virginia.lapenta@lincei.it). The applicant must also provide the Academy with a copy of the study material produced. For photographs and video recordings intended for the professional use or exploitation of the Villa’s image, a specific authorization from the Academy is required. Once the request has been reviewed, the Academy will assess whether to initiate the procedure in accordance with current regulations.
